Ice Ice Baby is an exploration of material properties and the body. The performer is enveloped in frozen fabric and invited to make decisions about whether to embrace the sensation, move with the slowness of the melt, or break the surface and battle the icy cocoon.
The Ice Ice Baby is a masked creature, partway to human, an alien on a planet that cannot support them. Maybe they’re. Maybe they’re spouting. Maybe they’re jumping in the fountain. All we know is their time is limited and we must live it.
Ice Ice Bab y is the body meeting the costume in a mutual embrace of life and death.
Performances created in collaboration with Sulekah Al Omar (2021) and Amanda Vesthardt (2022)
